Trending Knits
Whether you are in the colder states of Idaho, Washington or New York, or the slighter warmer states of CA, one thing we all need in our wardrobes is a knit.
When transitioning from autumn (fall) to winter, think about the sleek transition of layering. We love to incorporate camisoles, weekend tanks (those that you wore all summer long), Henleys and graphic tees.
Choosing a knit is all about the feel…it has to be soft! I can’t tell you how many knits we have put back when we realize they aren’t soft to the touch. And you don’t have to spend a lot to get a great knit … cashmere is definitely nice, but there are a ton of options this fall.
Here are some of the ones we are coveting:
So many reasons to fall in love with this Jcrew sweater. It is a great layering piece; it is on trend with the red hue and the animal print, it is reasonably priced, can be paired with jeans and a tank or with trousers (dress pants), slip dress or even with your favorite joggers

We love this piece. Not only does it come in a bunch of colors but it is perfect for all ages and all body types. We have this blazer in burgundy, heather blossom and oatmeal (see below) and wear it all season long.

If you don’t know we LOVE FreePeople. Season after season, we always find something and this ecru sweater is a great addition to your wardrobe. Their sweaters always run large so consider sizing down (although I (Liane) like some of my sweaters on the larger side)

What is not to love about a cable-knit? For us it is similar to the Aran jumper from England. It is durable and yells warmth. The pattern is said to bring good luck and prosperity. Black is a must for any winter season and when paired with a bright organ or olive green it is on trend for the season. Adding an ankle or Chelsea boot and a plaid trench is a chic way to walk your way through winter!

Ok … the rage of late has been the shoulder pad, but not in the “1980’s” sense of “Miami Vice is calling and they want their shoulder pads back” haha Instead it is a strong sleeveless shoulder. And if you are looking for a knit then maybe a dress is the way to go. Now … a knit dress can feel clingy (or form fitting) and a polo neck isn’t for everyone (I personally don’t like them) so this is just one option of many. You can pair this with a long cardigan in a similar hue (or herringbone coat) and add either an ankle boot or fashion sneaker for a fun weekend vibe.
