Season Stand Outs
So one of this season’s coveted looks is all things leather … it is a sleek, chic and most definitely a city vibe.
But … how many of us love the look of leather (from jackets, to trousers, to skirts etc), but either don’t feel like confident that they can pull off the look or have ethical reasons for not wearing it?
Well, here’s some ways to work around our concerns. First, (and you know this by now) there is faux everything. Second, find the right fit, the right style and of course the right piece (I prefer skirts over a trouser). And third, (and we say this on an Instagram post) you can’t spell confidence without an “I” … amirite?
So let’s start with the first and second point. Faux. Faux. Faux. And let’s not forget vegan. There are so many options that these pieces are on trend, they are chic, and reasonably priced too. In terms of right fit…besides hearing from us in terms of what worked for us (Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lauren.liane_styled/ ) you have to just try it on. It sucks to try on piece after piece, but trial and error is the tried and tested way.
Love, love, love this skirt (true to size). I have it in black, but this academic green is a great pop of color for the fall. I love that it can be worn high on the waist and can be worn low key (with a denim shirt or graphic T), or with a blouse and tweed collarless jacket for work!

A moto jacket looks great on any body type … trust me (I’m 5’5 and it doesn’t matter what my weight is this is a great cut), and this one is faux, so it’s priced great (less than $150)

This is a splurge … and vegan (an alternative to faux)! BUT how perfect is this look? A great mix of must have fall hues (tans), a plaid coat, and a neutral cashmere sweater!!So freakin’ chic

Third, remember that confidence is inspiring. And while you often hear people say that confidence has to come from within, I will say that the “right outfit” helps you stand a little taller, walk a little stronger and talk with conviction. So when it is “leather everything” season you know it is easy chic — a kind of grab and go. So the only thing holding you back is you; invest in a (faux/vegan) leather piece, pair it with anything and a way you go!
