Balanced Diet
A balanced diet isn’t always easy. Being on the go with work, raising a family, running errands, and keeping a house can mean that you go without meals, that you snack or that you just make unhealthy choices some days. BUT I have come to rely on smoothies that are packed with nutrients to start the day.
I have tried several recipes that my family love and fortunately for me they don’t always realize just what goes into them. I have also come across Blender Bombs.
@blenderbombs are a great way to add nutrients. They pack a punch and are a great source of Omega-3s. You can also break them over a bowl of porridge, yoghurt, or just bite right into them as a snack.
They are also free of “grains, gluten, dairy, soy, oats, refined sugars, chemicals, preservatives, and any fake a$$ ingredients.” So if you or your family have any dietary concerns this is a product to try, for sure.
Next on my list to try is: Mint & Cacao Chip, and Gogi, Cocunut and Acai.
Here is an easy smoothie – The Green smoothie (yeah not very original but my family all know what I’m making when I tell them hahah)
2 cups of spinach – put at the bottom of blender as it helps blend better.
1 cup of: almond milk, pineapple juice, avocado (we buy in bulk because we make so much of it; you can also use frozen avocado), pineapple and mango chunks – buy in bulk from freezer section – and yoghurt (Fage total 2%).
I actually hate brown bananas, but they are great in smoothies because they are extra sweet (S.N. – I often put bananas in the freezer when they turn brown and just slice them up when needed).
I also add protein powder or collagen peptides (from Costco). I’ve also used chia or hemp hearts (S.N. my kids don’t like hemp hearts and can definitely taste it when added).
We hope you enjoy this recipe. And we promise to bring your more recipes to try.
